With over 40 years of experience in K-12 SMT and STEM Education, Pornpun has served as the President of the National Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) from 2010-2018 and as the first Director of the South East Asian Minister of Education Regional Office for STEM Education (SEAMEO STEM-ED) from 2019-2022. She has established partnerships with local and international universities, institutions, and private agencies, and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role as the first President of the IAFSW. Her commitment is to further the association's mission to empower K-12 schools to develop a more STEM-literate workforce by providing effective tools and support to design and implement comprehensive STEM teaching and learning experiences.

Mrs. Duangsamorn
Klongsara

Vice President

Duangsamorn has over 30 years of experience in SMT and STEM education. She was a vice president at the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) from 2010 to 2018, and also held the president position of the Science, Mathematics, and Technology Teacher Association of Thailand (SMTAT) from 2015 to 2021. During her time at IPST, she successfully developed high-potential students in SMT to become researchers and scientists, as well as high-capacity teachers in schools across the country. Duangsamorn aims to enhance and empower the children and workforce of SMT and STEM education to perform at their best and help elevate their education to the next level.

Dr. Omjai
Saimek

Executive Committee

Omjai Saimek holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, USA with over 35 years of experience. She is skilled in science communication, project management, and academic-industry collaboration building. Omjai has managed various scholarship programs for talented students in science and technology, from high school to postgraduate level, and initiated mechanisms to promote S&T awareness among youths and the public. She served as Vice President of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) before retiring in 2022. Currently, Omjai is a part-time content creator for the PMU-B Newsletter, responsible for communicating R&D project outcomes to the public and policymakers.

Mrs. Chuanchom

Chuanchom holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Studies and Community Development from universities in Southern Thailand. She began her career as a math teacher in provincial primary schools throughout various regions of the country, working under the Local Authority Administration, Ministry of Interior. During her time as a teacher, Mrs. Chuanchom introduced an Executive Function Approach that helped develop students from early childhood to lower secondary levels. After retiring in 2017, she joined the Nation Building Institution, a non-profit foundation, to contribute to the collective effort of building capacities and developing moral purposes for the new generation workforce of the country. With her many years of experience in innovative programs for primary students, Mrs. Chuanchom's expertise in typical types of schools will be an asset for the association in developing quality schools with unique backgrounds.

Krongthong has had a distinguished 20+ year career in the field of mathematics education. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Deakin University, Australia. She has conducted and facilitated workshops for teachers from Southeast Asia and published a series of widely used math textbooks. She has a deep interest in technology integration, particularly in the use of tools such as The Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) and Canva. Her proficiency in these tools has allowed her to develop innovative teaching methods that have transformed the way students learn mathematics. Overall, Krongthong's experiences in mathematics education, STEM education, technology integration, and education development have had a significant impact in the education sector. She currently serves as Director of the Mathematics Program at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Thailand.

Weeranuch Kamolrungvarakul is a successful entrepreneur, educator, and language expert with fluency in English, Japanese, and Mandarin. She received her Bachelor's degree in International Business Management from Assumption University in Bangkok, and later earned a Master's degree in Economics and Business Administration from Osaka University in Japan. Weeranuch is the co-founder and managing director of Infinitus Services, as well as the founder of P2N Education and Primus Alpha Education. She has also worked as a part-time lecturer of Business Communication in Japanese at Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology and serves as a partner consultant for Business Consultants South East Asia. Weeranuch has extensive experience as an interpreter, translator, and instructor in various fields. In addition to her business pursuits, Weeranuch also assumes her role as Treasury of the Japanese Government Scholarship Alumni Foundation of Thailand.
